Ryan Anthony Dupree, 24, of Madison, passed away on September 4th, 2021 after a 24- hour battle with Covid-19 and Pneumonia.
Ryan was born on February 3, 1997 to Anthony and Peggy in Huntsville Alabama. After graduating from Bob Jones High school in 2015, he went on to study and play basketball for Snead State Community College where he earned an Associates in Science degree. He then went to Mississippi State where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Sports Management. He then attended Belhaven University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MBA. While at Belhaven, he played basketball for one season and spent the second season as a Graduate Assistant for the men’s basketball program.
He landed his first job as an assistant basketball coach for Shorter University in August 2021.
Ryan loved worship music, his family, basketball, working out, golf, playing with his dog Nike, Duke basketball and eating. He was always smiling and very active in his community. He loved working with kids of all ages and was always more than a teammate/coach.
Ryan was predeceased by grandparents Jake and Rosie Edwards and uncle Andrew Ferguson Edwards.
He is survived by grandparents Larry and Gayla Dupree, Parents: Anthony and Peggy Dupree, brothers: Collin Andrew and Seth Edward, Uncle and Aunt Bryan and Cindy Dupree and cousins Lari Louise and Landry Ellese Dupree.
A Celebration of his life will begin with visitation at 2pm, followed by the service at 3 pm on September 11th, at CrossPointe Church, Madison Alabama. The service will be officiated by John Dees, Austin Davis and Rex Looney.
In Lieu of flowers, we ask that you continue to pray for our family. We are grateful and humbled by the donations we have already received. We hope to establish some type of scholarship in Ryan’s name in the future.
