Mr. Tue Van Nguyen was born on May 10, 1927, in the Diocese of Phat Diem, Ninh Binh Province, North Vietnam, and peacefully passed away in Madison, Alabama, on December 1, 2024 at the age of 99 years old.
In 1954, as the communist forces neared their complete takeover of North Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen made the courageous decision to move his young family to South Vietnam as part of the Passage to Freedom operation. They eventually settled in the quaint fishing village of Nam Binh in Vung Tau, where he and his devoted wife worked tirelessly to provide for their eight surviving children, raising them in a home grounded in faith and love.
In 1979, driven once again by a desire for freedom, Mr. Nguyen led his family on a new journey—this time to the United States. They arrived in 1980, where he spent the rest of his life as a peace loving citizen.
After losing his home to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Mr. Nguyen relocated to Madison, Alabama. There, he embraced his passions for fishing, gardening, and spending cherished time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Yet above all, his greatest love was for Jesus, faithfully dedicating himself to the daily rosary, a practice that brought him profound peace and joy throughout his life.
Mr. Nguyen is survived by his six children, 30 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mua Thi Nguyen, seven of his children, and two grandchildren.
