Susan Woods Jenkins

 

Susan was born December 19, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Virginia Woods. She graduated from Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA in 1968.

She worked as a technical writer for Intergraph before staying home to raise her children. She volunteered at Westminster Christian Academy when her kids were young and then worked as the bookkeeper for the school. She loved opening her home to her children’s friends and welcomed them all. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her grandkids.

 

Susan was married for 53 years to Joseph Jenkins before his passing. They had two children together: their son, Nicholas (Eileen) Jenkins of Huntsville, AL; and their daughter Mary (Elon) Hayes of Harvest, AL; and six grandchildren (Zachary, Luke, Sydney, Elizabeth, Anastasia, and Emilia).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a memorial service following at 5 p.m. at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westminster Christian Academy in her memory.
