Susan Grace Davidson

October 28, 1953 — February 16, 2023

Madison

Susan Grace Davidson, age 69, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She inspired us all with her strength and courage these past few years as she fought a quickly progressing lung condition. She is now fully healed and free of pain and suffering.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Harris, and her brother, Steven Johnston. She is survived by her husband Richard, daughters Melissa Glenn (husband Jason), Lauren Linken (husband Allen), Brittney Etheridge (husband Will), grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Matthew, Abigail, and Emmalynn, father Jon Harris (wife Betty), siblings Donna Kochansky, Roger Michael Harris (wife Janene), and Linda Ortner (husband Karl), along with her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was born in Albany, GA on October 28, 1953, and her family moved to Long Branch, NJ when she was a child. They joined First Baptist Church, Long Branch, where she grew to know the Lord. Susan lived to serve her Savior and her family. She could be found coordinating Sunday School, singing in the choir, or supporting missions. Later in life, her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she loved spending time with them!

She had the gift of hospitality and made all of her family and friends feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. She also enjoyed working with her hands, whether it was gardening, sewing or baking, and passed those gifts on to her children who love to be creative as well. She loved to sing and even fell in love with her sweetheart, Richard, during her time singing in their high school choir together. She has also passed that love of music on to her family.

She and her family moved to Madison, AL in the summer of 2001, to be closer to her parents. Her mother, Clara, was her best friend and they enjoyed being able to spend time together regularly. She served her parents with the same joy that she served everyone. Her family quickly plugged into First Baptist Church Madison and enjoyed serving alongside their church family

We all looked to her as the foundation of our family, and have many fond memories because of her ability to bring people together and celebrate even the smallest things. She will be greatly missed here on earth, but her legacy will be carried on, and we know that she is at peace, and worshiping the Lord, her Savior for all of eternity.

Please join us as we celebrate her life this Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 4:00PM at First Baptist Church Madison, 4257 Sullivan St, Madison, AL 35758, with family visitation starting at 3:00PM.
