Sang Joon Han

Sang Joon Han, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 21, 2023 in Madison, Alabama.

Sang was born on March 19, 1954, to Han Bong Soo and Sung Shin Soon in Seoul, South Korea where he grew up and spent his formative years. At the age of 26, he emigrated to the US and settled in Huntsville, Alabama. He has called Madison his home since 2000.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kyung; and his twin sons Christopher and Calvin.

Sang will be remembered as a strong, courageous, bold, hard-working and caring father, husband, and leader who relentlessly fought to the very end, and who will no doubt continue to bring these same traits into the life beyond.

He was an avid golfer, guitarist, and Alabama football fan.

Sang was a member of the local Korean community, having led the North Alabama Korean Association in the 90s, and worked as both an educator and administrator at Alabama A&M University.
