Pattie Bell Simpson

Pattie Bell Bennett Simpson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2024 in Huntsville Alabama.

Born in Greenville Mississippi on September 2nd, 1935 to Paul Mayes Bennett and Helen Simpson Bennett, Pattie was a bright and energetic woman who loved life and those around her. After graduating from Mississippi State College for Women with an English degree in 1956, she began teaching school and married the love of her life David Lawrence Simpson on June 1st, 1957. Together they had two sons: Paul Bennett Simpson and David Simpson Jr.

Fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife to David Lawrence Simpson (preceded in death), Pattie and David were active members of St. Paul United Methodist Church upon moving to Huntsville in the early 1960’s. She is survived by her sons, sister Sharon Bennett Pattillo and nephew Duncan Pattillo as well as five grandchildren Kate, Stephen, Alan, Carter, and Paige, and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Shaw Mississippi at Shaw Cemetery at a later date.

Pattie was an amazing woman who touched many lives with her kindness and sassy disposition; she will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
