Nikita Rena’e Harris, a Human Resources Administrator departed this life unexpectedly on March 22, 2023.
She is survived by her two sons Jaylon Pretlow, Ayden Harris, Mother Shelia Diane Harris, Father Reverend Joe Harris, Jr (Tanya), Sisters Nikesha Harris, Stephanie J. Postell, Titiana Moore, and Tia Hill, Brothers Richard K. Jones, Jermel C. Harris, Terry Hill, Grandmother Maxine Elsberry, Great Uncle Henry Foster, Uncle Sullivan L. Harris (Helena), Aunt Joyce Wesley, her favorite cousin Carlos Bailey (Fran). A host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
Ms. Nikita Rena’e Harris was born to Joe And Shelia D. Harris on May 22, 1985 at Noble Army Hospital in FT. McClellan, Annison, AL. She is what you would call an “Army Brat”, because both her father and mother are military retirees. Nikita aka “Kita”, was an outstanding daughter never one to cause problems or trouble.
Nikita grew up overseas in the Republic of Germany. Hermother relocated to Fort Eustis, VA where she eventually retired. Nikita attended and graduated from Woodside High School. Although she pursued and received a certification in medical billing and coding from Everest University, she later discovered a passion for Human Resources.
Nikita’s passion for Human Resources grew stronger over the years as she held various HR roles for DirectTV, BBSS, I3 (Government contract) and most recently ERC (Government contract), where she was loved and respected by all of her co-workers.
Nikita was a very loving and devoted mother to her two sons who were her world! She was a highly active and involved football mom.
For Ayden’s football team, the Triana Warriors, she was a designated team mom who never missed a practice or a game where she was always motivating and cheering Ayden and his team on.
For Jaylen, whether it was football or basketball she watched every game she could possibly watch and cheered as loud as she could screaming from Huntsville, AL all the way to Williamsburg, VA, “GO JAYLEN!”
Although “Kita” is gone she will never ever be forgotten.
