Lionel Edgar Champeau

Lionel E. Champeau, 86, of Madison, Alabama passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.  Lionel was born on December 12, 1936 in Woonsocket, RI to the late Leo Champeau and Irene Nadeau.  He was married for 53 years to the late Loretta Archambault Champeau.  Preceded in death by his son Scott Champeau, sisters Cil Marshall, Margie Farber and brother Bob Champeau.  He was survived by daughters Susan Champeau, Kathy Brand, Paula Dennis and Jodie Ruano. Grandchildren Scott Champeau, Kyle Brand, Keith and Daniel Lapierre, Gabrielle Ruano-Mikell, Gage Ruano and several Great Grandchildren.  He was a welder by trade and millwright for many years at General Motors in Framingham, MA until retiring in 1992.  He lived in Hudson, FL until moving to Madison, AL in July of last year.  He was an Army Veteran and member of the UAW.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted.  Family and friends are invited to share a Celebration of Life Mass to honor Lionel at Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Hwy, Mapleville, RI on Tuesday, June 20th at 10:00am.  Burial will be private.
