Julie Gill Skipper was born on December 11, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She passed away on October 29, 2023, at the age of 69.
She was the beloved wife of James F. Skipper for 48 years. She was an excellent mother to Melissa, James and Bastian. Recently, she was the most amazing grandmother to Felix Liebrecht.
She graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1971 and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a teaching degree in 1974. For over 25 years she was a teacher in Texas, Tennessee, and Madison, Alabama. She retired from teaching at Madison Elementary School in Madison, AL. She enjoyed working with children and making a difference in their lives.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, craft shows, watching soap operas and nascar with her grandson, Felix, and working in her yard. She loved growing beautiful iris and rhododendron. She had lived in Bristol, Tennessee, and enjoyed spending time in the mountains. She loved sitting at her kitchen table and watching the hummingbirds, squirrels, and birds.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gill of Wildwood, Georgia.
She is survived by her loving family; husband, James F. Skipper; son, James D. Skipper; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Skipper Liebrecht and Bastian Liebrecht; and grandson, Felix Liebrecht; her brothers, Mark and Seth Gill and their families of Georgia.
