Joseph Paul Wolpe went to be with Our Lord on March 8, 2025 due to illness. Joe was born on April 7, 1940 in Canton, Illinois to Peter John Wolpe and Florence Mildred Wolpe (Cram). He met his wife of 56 years, Judy Lee Johnson, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Joe was a military man and served our country for 22-1/2 years in the United States Air Force. Among his many assignments, he went to Vietnam for one tour of duty. He was also stationed in Holland, Germany, Japan, the Philippines, and several stateside bases. His last duty station was at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas. He and his family made their home there and was part of the community for many years.
He loved the Blues and Rock-n-roll. He also loved to dance, play darts and go bowling. Joe served as Treasurer of the local VFW and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his wife Judy; his parents, Peter John Wolpe and Florence Mildred Wolpe; a sister Cathy; a brother-n-law Duncan; and three brothers David, Edwin, and James.
He is survived by his four children: Susan Kent, Sharal Bryant (Ron Bryant), Lisa Miller (Jennifer Moroles), and Paul Wolpe (Michelle Wolpe); 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren with 1 more on the way; and 1 great great grandchild on the way; a younger brother Jon Wolpe; a sister-n-law Sandra Walker and many friends.
