Jim Kendall passed peacefully on March 20, 2025. He was born to Frederick K. Kendall and Sara Pardee Kendall on July 20, 1928 in Wilmington, Delaware. He joined the United States Air Force as an aviation cadet in November, 1949 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in December, 1950. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 after 30 years. He moved from Benton, Louisiana to Madison, Alabama in 2022.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara, his second wife, Harriet, his parents and his daughter, Suzanne Tanner. He is survived by his dear friend, Gwen Gunn, his three daughters and one son: Sally and Ken Lawing of Madison, Alabama , Nancy Gauvin of New Gloucester, Maine, Mary and Steve Cook of Birmingham, Alabama, Mike and Lee Ann Kendall of Dallas, Texas and his son-in-law, Tim Tanner of Danville, Vermont . He is survived by ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 25 at 10 A.M.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the physicians, nurses and staff at Huntsville Hospital and Hospice Family Care Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
