Howard Lee Moore

Funeral service for Howard Lee Moore, age 81, of Huntsville, will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Legacy Chapel.

Howard, who died Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care was born May 14th 1943, in Siluria, Alabama to Elvin Wilburn Moore and Maudi Ardelia Howard Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Brenda Mills.

Howard and Linda married in 1965 and celebrated 60 wonderful years together. They built a loving life and family, filled with unconditional love and support. Howard cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He started his successful career negotiating with Union workers in the Siluria Mill Village in Alabaster, Alabama. He worked up and retired as Human Resource of Maples Industries, Inc in Scottsboro, Alabama. He was a regular at Scottsboro Country Club, enjoying golf and the company of close friends. His love for nature was evident in his hobbies, including turkey, dove, and quail hunting, fishing, and storm watching. Howard's garden always featured a birdhouse, where he enjoyed watching bluebirds. An avid learner, Howard had a particular interest in WWII subjects. Howard was an amazing storyteller who passed down treasured stories and lessons to his family and friends.

Howard is survived by his wife, Linda Moore; daughter, Melissa Blume (Bradley Blume); daughter, Melanie Swinea (Calven Swinea), daughter, Keri Bell; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gessler (Carl John), Megan Haggard (Mason), Hunter Ammons (Rachel), Lauren Ammons (Daniel Valin), Samantha Poulin, Matthew Poulin, and Gage Bell; and four great grandchildren, Lily Gessler, Hazel Haggard, Carl John Gessler IV, and Ellie Ammons.
