Floyd S. Johnson, 71 years of age, passed away on the 29th of April 2023 at his home in Harvest, Alabama, surrounded by family.
Floyd was born on July 27, 1951 to the late Floyd E. and Doris (Williams) Johnson in Huntsville, Alabama. He grew up in Harvest, Alabama as the oldest of 3 children and graduated from Sparkman High School.
Floyd married his childhood sweetheart and neighbor, Patricia Ann Burrell, and spent the next 49 years together raising 2 beautiful daughters, Angela Sharp (Harvest, AL) and Janice Johnson (Memphis, TN). They would go on to spend their later years spoiling two grandsons, Matthew Stone and Aiden Sharp.
After high school, Floyd attended and graduated from the police academy and worked as a Madison police officer. Later, he worked at GAF on Redstone Arsenal and then retired as a Plant Manager for Madison County Schools at Sparkman High School. He volunteered his time as a fireman at Harvest Volunteer Fire Department, where he gained his EMT certification. He became an ordained minister and was a guest preacher at several area churches.
His passions were hunting and fishing, but also dabbled in woodworking, painting, archery and gardening. However, his favorite pastime was arguing with whoever would argue back.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama at 12 & 1pm, respectively, followed by internment at Fords Chapel Cemetery in Harvest, Alabama.
