Edward Thomas Ball

Edward Thomas Ball, a hardworking and skilled individual who dedicated his life to the farming industry, passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 87 in Athens, Alabama. Born on February 15, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, Edward was the beloved son of Thomas Edward Ball and Edyth Ball.

Edward's passion for farming was evident throughout his life. He possessed a remarkable talent for building farming equipment from scratch and was known for this ability. His dedication and expertise in such an area made him an influential figure within the farming community.
In addition to his professional achievements, Edward will be remembered for his warm and jovial nature. He had an infectious laugh that could brighten anyone's day and genuinely enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends. He had a deep love for his wife, Carolyn Sloan Ball, and their bond served as an inspiration to many.
Edward's commitment to serving his country was evident through his military service in the United States Army. He displayed great bravery and dedication during his time in the armed forces, earning the respect of those who served alongside him.
Edward's memory will continue to be cherished by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife Carolyn Sloan Ball, sister Virginia, nieces Nancy Sarpolis and Carol Stefan, nephew Alan Stefan, stepsons Jerry Lawrence and Paul Lawrence, grandson Michael Lawrence, grandson Joseph Lawrence, grandson Tyler Lawrence, grandson Caleb Lawrence, grandson John Paul Lawrence, granddaughter Kaitlynn Lawrence, and four great-grandchildren. Each of these individuals has a special place in Edward's heart.

To honor Edward's life, family and friends are invited to attend memorial services held at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home And Crematory located at 16 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL 35758. The visitation will take place on December 29th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, this will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Edward will then be laid to rest at Huntsville Memory Gardens, 6810 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806, in a ceremony beginning at 2:00 pm.
