After a long and beautiful life, Diane Elizabeth Little, 90, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on July 5, 2023.
Diane was born on March 19, 1933, in Utica, NY, to Dorothy and Ralph Kelsey. She was raised in East Pembroke, NY, and graduated as a registered nurse from Genesee Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She met her husband, Clarence “Sonny” Little, in the 8th grade, and they wed after her nursing graduation. She traveled the world alongside Sonny as an Army wife maintaining a varied nursing career along the way. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put her loved ones first. She retired as an American Red Cross nurse in 1990 and enjoyed beautiful sunsets from their front yard on Wheeler Lake. She moved to Madison with Sonny in 2020 to be closer to family and enjoyed meeting her kind neighbors.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Ralph Kelsey, and her sisters, Barbara Capwell and Suzanne Van Buren.
Diane is survived by her husband of 68 years, LtC (Ret) Clarence Little; her two sons, Douglas Little (Teresa) and Jeffery Little (Ellen); five grandchildren, Sarah Stark (Daniel), Kelly Lycans (Zach), Daniel Little (Sara), Samantha Magnuson (Bob), and Michael Little (Victoria); and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Kelsey (Elizabeth); two sisters, Joanne Hay (Harold) and Christine Farrel (Toby); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with a memorial service following at 11:00 A.M.
