Cecilia Baclagon Freeland

Cecilia Baclagon Freeland, 79, of Madison, Alabama passed away quietly on September 20, 2023. 

One of the tenacious souls on this planet, our mother was a gentle, generous person who was fiercely protective of her family. She loved to celebrate all holidays, mainly because she loved to have all of her family together. She was a devout Catholic and prayed always for the people she loved.

She was born September 16, 1944, in the Philippines to Claro and Margarita (Baclagon) Inson. She met her best friend and the love of her life, Robert Freeland while he was stationed in the Philippines with the Air Force. They were married on January 20, 1969 and had a glorious 53 years together before he passed away in November 2022. 

She is survived by her son, Bobby Freeland (Jocelyn); two daughters, Elizabeth Butler (David) and Mary Parks (Brian); six grandchildren, Emily, Anthony, Quinn, Sophia, Lilly, and Savannah. She is also survived by her siblings, Rose Marie Baclagon Balangawan, Mary Ann Inson Midkiff (Harvey), and Serafin Baclagon Inson (Francesita).

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother - Ramon Baclagon Inson. 

The funeral service will be held October 2nd with visitation at 10 AM and mass at 11 AM in the Chapel at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Inurnment of the cremains will follow the mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Columbarium. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cecilia Freeland to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama or to your local SVDP food bank.
