Carolyn was born on October 2, 1931, in East Brewton, Alabama. She was the only child of Charlie Edward and Ruby Pearl Bell Foster. Carolyn graduated from W. S. Neal High School and attended Troy State College. After college, she met and married her beloved husband, the late Reverend Charles Langford. They were married 64 and a half years. Carolyn cherished her role as mother to their two children Marcia Langford Moss and Joel Langford.
Carolyn was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church where she spent a life of Christian service as a pastor’s wife, church member, Sunday School teacher, member of the United Methodist Women, choir member, and any capacity where she was needed.
Carolyn earned her bachelor's degree in education from Auburn University Montgomery and a master’s degree from Troy. Throughout her life, she worked as a teacher and homemaker. She also served in volunteer roles at the local hospital in Phenix City, Alabama.
She enjoyed reading, preparing delicious meals, listening to music, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. She appreciated pretty flowers, fine decorations, and the simplicity of nature. Carolyn was a loving and kind friend to many and displayed an exemplary life of service.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlie and Pearl Foster and her husband, Reverend Charles M. Langford.
She is survived by her loving family; daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Rod Moss; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Sheila Langford; grandchildren, Ben Moss, Dan and Emily Moss; great-grandchildren, Miller, Wesley, and Abigail.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Embrace Alabama Kids (formerly United Methodist Children’s Home).
