Lovingly surrounded by family, Billie Rogers Moore, 78, of Harvest, AL passed into the arms of her waiting Savior on April 13th, 2024.
Billie was born in Hollywood, AL and graduated from Scottsboro High School. After completing a business training course, she was hired by the Finance and Accounting office of the Missile Command. She was a highly valued and recognized employee over the course of an 18-year career.
It was through her work that Billie met her husband, Tom Moore. At a young age, she was a loving and dedicated mother to six children. Following the addition of a seventh child later in life, she chose to resign from her job to concentrate on raising her family. She worked selflessly to ensure that her special needs child received the additional attention and resources he needed.
Billie was a member of University Baptist Church in Huntsville. She was active in Sunday school, the seniors' program, and assisted as a sign language interpreter.
She was highly creative: designing flower arrangements, scrapbooking, cooking, and decorating. Her home was wonderfully decorated for every holiday and featured in the newspaper many times for elaborately detailed Christmas displays. She also loved lawn care, gardening, and doing crafts with her grandchildren.
Billie is survived by her children: Joe Moore, Terri Moore Garza, Kevin Moore, Dr. Randy Moore (Cassy), Cheryl Moore Chandler, Darrell Moore (Sandra), and Jonathan Moore; sisters-in-law Barbara Rogers and Martha Moore Jackson; grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Bailey, Cory, Courtney, David, Elyssa, Jeremiah, Jonah, Joshuah, Maddie, Micah, and Noah; great-grandchildren Aidan, Cameron, Donovan, Dylan, Gabriel, Georgia, John, Lyla, and Parker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Moore; her parents, Howard and Marie Rogers; her siblings: Bobby Roy Rogers and Gene Rogers, granddaughter Hannah M. Moore; and nephew, Steven Roy Rogers.
Legacy Chapel will hold a celebration of life on May 4th. Visitation will begin at 11:00 with the service at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either The Church on the Hill (formerly University Baptist Church) or the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind.
