Betty Ann Allebach

Betty Ann Allebach, 85, of Huntsville, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2024.

Betty was born the second daughter of Paul and Annie Belle Moore on July 16, 1939 on a small farm in Forest Home, AL.  She was an Army wife, an elementary school teacher, a dear friend, the mother of two, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of one.  She loved her friends and family dearly, always putting their needs before her own.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Victor Allebach, her sisters Wynell Davidson and Paulette Taylor, and their husbands, Rex Davidson and Henry Taylor.  She is survived by her children, Kurt Allebach, his wife Jennifer Allebach of Tampa, FL, Lorraine Hill, and her husband Stephen Hill of Madison, AL.  She has three granddaughters, Juana Summers of Gettysburg, PA, Bailey Allebach of Little Rock, AR, and Anna Hill of Madison, AL, as well as three grandsons, Joshua Hill and Isaac Hill of Huntsville, AL and Joseph Hill of Miami, FL.  She has one great-granddaughter, Jameelah Summers of Gettysburg, PA.

Betty graduated from Greenville High School and then attended Troy State College where she earned her teaching degree.  After graduating, Betty took a teaching position in Columbus, GA where she met her husband who was stationed at Fort Benning. The Army took Vic and Betty to Schweinfurt, Germany and to Camp Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone.  They later settled in Newport News, VA for 33 years. While in Newport News, Betty continued her education at Christopher Newport College, taught elementary school and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Newport News. After Vic's passing, Betty relocated to Huntsville, AL to be near Lorraine and her family.  She immediately made friends in her neighborhood and at Asbury Church where she attended the past 15 years.  While in Huntsville, Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, serving at her church, and participating in neighborhood activities at Overland Cove.  She was a fantastic Mother, Grandmother, Friend, and Neighbor who will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Asbury Church in Madison, AL on February 1, 2025 at 2 pm with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation or Asbury Church.
