Sherryl Ann McCray

Mrs. Sherryl Ann McCray-Jones, age 68 years, transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born November 12, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Carrie Rembert and Booker Stewart. 

Sherryl attended school in Cincinnati, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the Parochial School System in Detroit. Sherryl attended Wayne State University, University of Detroit Mercy, and Bryan University Arizona (online courses) where she achieved Certification in Medical Coding and Billing. Sherryl also achieved a Bachelor and Associate in Health Information Management.

Sherryl began working at Henry Ford Hospital as a Senior year in high school and continued after graduating from college. Sherryl also was employed at Childrens and Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.

Sherryl accepted Christ at early age, she converted from Catholic Faith to Baptist Faith at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on July 4, 2010, under the leadership of Pastor Louis Forsythe, II. Sherryl was a loyal, dedicated faithful member to the auxiliaries she served on Nurses Guild, Willing Workers, and Youth Sunday School.

Sherryl moved to Harvest Alabama, to have a better life and help a cousin, Lanona McMasters, (who preceded her in death) with a thriving Real Estate Business, until her death.

Sherryl leaves to cherish her memory her husband/companion Michael L. Jones, Brother, Freddie Simpson, two sons, Jimmie Joiner and Robert McCray, two daughters Melissa Mumpfield and Jennifer McCray; five grandchildren: Janee’, Ernell (Rosemary), Diamond, Mwangi and Robyn: two great grandchildren: Noah and Gabriel and a host of family and friends and her loving sister-in-law Vickie Jones completed this journey with her.
