Carl Donald Bryan, 90 years old of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Hospice Family Care.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 13 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory, 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758. Mr. Bryan’s ashes will be presented to his family shortly after the service. Friends are welcome to join the family for the celebration of life on that day at the funeral home.
Carl Bryan was born April 15, 1932 in St. Andrew, on the island of Barbados nestled in the Caribbean. On August 2, 1956, he married Viola Clementine Watson in St. Michael, Barbados. Mr. Bryan worked diligently as a Painter for over thirty years in Barbados. After immigrating to the United States of America he was employed for seventeen years with Macy’s Department Store in Manhattan, New York. Carl enjoyed social activities, attending church, meeting and talking to people. He also enjoyed singing along to his favorite gospels, Caribbean folk songs, cooking, sharing family recipes and spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could.
Mr. Bryan is survived by his bride of sixty-five years, Viola Bryan; seven children, Erskine Watson, Barbara Worrell, Anderson Bryan, Diane Bryan, Trevor Bryan, Sherwin Bryan and Jo-Ann Taalib-Lilley, their spouses and or significant others and his honorary daughter, Wynester Askiew; His sister, Mrs. Ena Hope, brother Clyde Watson along with several grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Bryan-Catlyn, his father, Fitz Catlyn, his daughter Eleanor Watson and son Terry Bryan.
