Dorothy Green Dart

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Dart, and her granddaughter Dalia.

 

Dorothy is survived by her children as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 

Dorothy attended Potsdam High School, and Potsdam State Teachers College (BA Music Education). She married in 1944, teaching elementary school music, and volunteering for churches as choir director. Dorothy was a real estate agent in the North Pittsburgh area in the 1970s. She was a docent at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, teaching children about dinosaurs. She lived at Masonic Village of Sewickley PA until moving to Alabama to live with her daughter Betsy, Alan, and several dogs who became constant companions. She had a lifelong love of outdoor walks and continued walking until she was 96 and a half! Dorothy died peacefully at home, one day after her 97 th birthday, and will be missed by all.

 

In lieu of flowers, please take a walk outside for Dorothy and then make a phone call to someone you haven’t spoken to for a while. Tell them you’re glad they’re in your life!
