Richard Ovide Lavallee

Richard O. Lavallee, 65, of Madison, AL passed away on January 24, 2022 peacefully, surrounded by his family after a short illness. Originally from West Springfield, Massachusetts, Rich moved with his family to Huntsville, AL in 1991.  He was a Quality Director for several companies; Digital Equipment, Acutek, Adtran, Emerson and Sanmina, retiring in 2020.  He loved his family, camping, kayaking and cruising and was proud of his home and yard.  He was known to many as “Smiley” or “Mr. Clean”.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ovide A. Lavallee; mother, Marie Emma (Bernard) Lavallee; his brother Robert and sister Jeanne Lavallee.  He leaves his wife of 46 years, Cindy (Cassells) Lavallee; a daughter; Sherri (Matthew) Lynn; a son Daniel Lavallee (Courtney); and three granddaughters, Emily Lynn, Allison Lynn and Anna Kate Lavallee and a sister Suzanne Stebbins.

Legacy Chapel will host a visitation for Richard O. Lavallee Friday, January 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church, 2113 Old Monrovia Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35806.

Interment will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
