Patricia Marie Doty

Patricia Marie Doty, 79, of Madison, Alabama passed away on December 14th at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.  Pat was born on October 3, 1942 in St. Clair, Missouri. She graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1986 with High Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science.  She retired from NASA as a Project Manager in 2007 after a long and rewarding career with the Microgravity office.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, John Philip Doty, parents, Curtis and Mary Peacock, and brothers, Joseph Peacock and James Peacock. She is survived by her children, Dave Junghans, Wayne Junghans (Joan) and Susan Machnica (John), as well as her 6 grandchildren, David Junghans, Cassidy Dickson (Chris), Kristina Junghans (Brad), Jacob Machnica (Tatum), William Junghans and Ashleigh Junghans, great grandson, Mac Dickson, and sisters, Mary Alice Redmon and Betty Rosenberger.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sorely missed.  She had a passion for knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, scrapbooking, traveling, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved cats, Ginger and Sugar. She was an avid tennis fan and was especially fond of Roger Federer.  

Visitation will be at Legacy Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama on Thursday, December 16 from 12:00 - 2:00pm with a burial immediately following at Maple Hill Cemetery.
