Carolyn June Thompson

June 22, 1948 — November 22, 2021

On November 22, 2021, Carolyn June Thompson of Madison passed away peacefully at age 73 at Valley View Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born June 22nd 1948 in Boaz a daughter of the late Dodi Eubanks and Aline Gunnels. Over the years Carolyn was a factory worker, Madison County school bus driver, apartments  manager, real estate agent, and medical office manager. She loved attending church at Cornerstone Word of Life Church in Madison and participated in prayer groups and Bible classes. Carolyn was the mother of three children and nana to 4 grandchildren.

Carolyn was a faithful wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Before her health declined she was always looking to offer help. She brought meals to the homes of those going through hard times. And she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was cared for and encouraged. She was very generous and looked for opportunities to share the love of Jesus. One the things her loved ones always looked forward to at Christmas time was her homemade candy Christmas boxes.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Curtis Thompson, her children, Joe Walker, Paul(Christine) Walker, and Amy(Jared) Shotts, and her four grandchildren, David Walker, Jonathan Walker, Connor Shotts, and Alice Walker. She was predeceased by her father Dodi Eubanks, her stepfather Clyde Gunnels, her mother Aline Gunnels, and her sister Nila Powell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
