Jack Thomas West

Jack Thomas West was born March 6, 1937 in Booneville, Mississippi to Eddie Mauvelene and James Luther West. He graduated from Booneville High School in 1956 and from Mississippi State University in 1960 with a degree in Industrial Management.

Jack and Barbara Stokes married in June 1960 and moved to Rome, Georgia where Jack had accepted a position with Sears Roebuck & Company. After 34 years with the company and moving several times, Jack retired and settled in Madison, Alabama.

Jack loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening and traveling with his family. Jack was a member of Asbury Methodist church where he served as lead usher for more than twenty years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents James and Mauvelene West. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Stokes West, son Michael West and wife Linda, daughter Suzanne Marsh and husband Rick, sister Joyce Keeton, nephew James Keeton and wife Pam. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Leah Marsh and Alex Marsh, and his many friends.

Jack Thomas West went to be with his Lord on March 5, 2021. A graveside service will be held at Faith Memorial Park on Sunday March 7 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
