Natasha Lee Dean, 44, of Madison, AL, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021 after a 7 month battle with ovarian cancer.
Natasha was born on July 1, 1976 to Anthony and Chong Rasmussen in Key West, Florida. After graduating from S.R. Butler High School in 1994, she went on to attend Calhoun Community College for a few semesters before deciding to join the U.S. Navy in September 1997. She served as a Fire Controlman Petty Officer Third Class. She also attended Saint Leo University in Norfolk, VA where she received her Associate of Liberal Arts in December 2002.
In September 2003 she was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and moved back to Alabama to pursue new career opportunities and began attending Faulkner College where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources degree in December 2007. Natasha worked at Redstone Federal Credit Union for 13 years where she became a Licensed Brokerage Assistant. She was employed with SAIC for 3 years when she became ill.
In 2006, Natasha and her daughter, Kiersten, met Charles Dean. Natasha and Charles wed on September 22, 2007. Together Natasha and Charles created a loving supportive home for Kiersten. As a family, they raised Kiersten in Christian home and supported her as she performed in the band in middle school and on the Sparkman Color Guard team in high school. Their family often participated with friends and family in many social gatherings, sporting activities and vacation adventures.
Natasha was passionate about her pets. Natasha and Charles have two dogs and two cats. Natasha could often be found snuggling with her dogs or taking them for neighborhood walks with Charles. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.
Natasha is survived by her husband Charles Dean, her daughter Kiersten Listermann of Madison, AL, her parents Anthony and Chong Rasmussen of Huntsville, her sister Sharon Martin (Chris) and her niece Olivia Martin all of Cary, North Carolina.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 30th from 2pm till 4pm at Legacy Chapel in Madison, AL. Funeral service will be at 4pm following visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Hulsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to A New Leash on Life (https://anewleash.org/donate/) where Natasha and Charles adopted their loving dogs.
