Wanda Williams Tarwater

October 28, 1933 — December 1, 2020

Wanda Williams Tarwater, born October 28, 1933, passed away on December 1, 2020 after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bish M. Tarwater, her parents, Arthur and Ruvie Williams and her sister, Angie Glover.

Mrs. Tarwater was a longtime resident of Madison, Alabama where she spent many years teaching kindergarten.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Madison where she taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School and served as the Senior Adult Leader for many years.   She was always continuing her education and graduated from Calhoun at 75 years old.   She worked as a nurse with Dr. Jerry M Graham for many years and during that time found a passion for missions in which she went on several medical mission trips to Haiti, Guatamala and the Dominican Republic.

She is survived by her four children, Don Tarwater and his wife Cindy of Huntsville, AL, David Tarwater and his wife Vivian of Daphne, AL, Randy Tarwater and his wife Deree of Huntsville, AL, Joy Parker and her husband Bill of Madison, AL; and nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brothers, Tommy Williams and Phillip Williams; and her sisters, Gwen Smith and Pat Shifflett.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Madison Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Madison, 4257 Sullivan St., Madison, AL  35758.
