Rachel Underwood, the daughter of Daniel and Debrah Underwood of Madison, Alabama, has passed into the peace and comfort of her Heavenly Father’s arms. Her faith in Jesus is complete.
Rachel was a 2005 graduate of Bob Jones High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Alabama, majoring in Journalism. She began her career in 2005 working for Sun Life Financial in Atlanta, GA and after 2 years of proving her value there, she was moved to a Headquarter’s position in Boston Massachusetts to assist in the training of other agents in a process she had developed for customer retention. After a year there, she was offered a job by QBE North America, a global insurance company, serving as the East Coast Representative and receiving numerous awards for her efforts. She eventually found her way back home to Madison, Alabama working for the Marsh&McLennan Agency, another global firm with businesses in insurance brokerage, risk management, reinsurance.
Rachel was a Varsity and competition cheerleader at Bob Jones High School, who also loved dance, reading books, writing wonderful stories, watching scary movies, traveling and listening to country music. She was also an excellent cook, developing her skills while living in Boston’s North End Italian district. She valued her friendships, even with those she had lost touch with. They all enriched her life and taught her many valuable lessons.
She loved her family very deeply and they loved her equally. She leaves behind her parents, her brother Nathan Underwood of Springville, Alabama, her sister Leah Underwood of Madison Alabama, her sister-in-law Tracy Underwood, her niece Carol Ann Underwood, her nephew John Morgan Underwood and her grandfather Robert Brazil of New Hope, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Carol Brazil, grandmother, Olney Underwood, and grandfather Willard Underwood.
Visitation will take place Monday November 16, 2020 at First Baptist Church Madison at 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
