Edward Ronald Ranes

Edward Ronald Ranes, 62, of Madison, AL, passed away on November 7, 2020.

He was born to parents William and Alta, on October 15, 1958 in Lansing, MI.

Ed was well loved by almost everyone he met. He was generous, hardworking, and helped however he could. Ed retired as a Major in the Marine Corps after 24 years of service, and later worked for the federal government, retiring just this year. Adventurous with a love of travel, he has climbed mountains around the world, swam with sharks, and kayaked with alligators.

Ed has one daughter, Heather Colley.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Heather, grandsons, Camden Miller and Lucas Colley, brothers, Jeff and William (Bill) Ranes, his sister, Karen Place, and girlfriend Janet Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Alta.

The family has entrusted Legacy Chapel Funeral Home with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for November 13 at 12:00pm with the funeral at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
