Paul B. Schipke, 90, of Madison, Alabama passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2020.
Paul was born to William and Christine Schipke on February 23, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is survived by his two loving daughters Janis C. Ward and Christine A. Schipke, son-in-law Charles Ward, three grandchildren Melissa Segroves (and husband, Bill), Ben Ward (and wife, Clare), and Sarah Delashaw (and husband, John) and seven great grandchildren –– Jack, Anna, Wyeth, Dorothy, Ward, Mae and Lillian.
He is pre-deceased by his wife of 31 years, Dorothea M. Schipke.
A veteran of the US Air Force, and graduate of Washington University, Paul was admired by friends and family for his talents as both a painter and commercial graphic designer. He will long be remembered for his sharp wit, wonderfully twisted sense of humor, generous spirit, and a strong sense loyalty and integrity. Paul enjoyed a life filled with the love of friends and family and believed that a good meal, a perfectly dry vodka martini, books, airplanes, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Wall Street Journal were among life’s great pleasures.
Due to the current pandemic, no services are planned at this time. Paul will be cremated and laid to rest in St. Louis next to his wife, Dottie, at a future date yet to be determined.
