Raymond Jackson Baker, Jr.

The family of Raymond J. Baker, Jr., of Madison, Alabama, is saddened to announce his passing on September 7, 2020, at the age of 72.  Raymond was born in Columbia, South Carolina and he spend many years living in Jefferson, Georgia.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years: Deborah Guthrie Baker; children: Kimberly Dunn, Ashley Baker, Heather Baker Norris (Brian), and Raymond J. Baker, III (Sarah); 11 grandchildren; sisters: Carol Eustace (Bill) and Joan Mazzell Spradley; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 12 years: Janice R. Baker; father: Raymond J. Baker, Sr.; and mother: Lillie Sanders Mays.

Ray was first and foremost a Christian, as well as a joke teller, golfer, successful entrepreneur, and a loving family man. His second most-prized title was that of Granddaddy.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, at West Huntsville Church of Christ, located at 1519 Old Monrovia Rd NW, Huntsville, Alabama, 35806. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service for family will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens later in the day.
