Christine Toney

Christine C. Toney, 92, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully June 6, 2020 in her home from Ovarian Cancer.  She was born August 10, 1927 in Birmingham, AL. to Frank L. and Christine J. Carau.

She leaves behind her brother Lawrence Carau of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., Sons John B. Toney (Carolyn) of Somerville, David L. Toney (Beverly) of East Limestone and Daughter Elise T. Kirkland (Marc) of Madison, Seven Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren, One Great, Great Grandson, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Preceding her in death were her Parents, Brother Frank Carau of Colorado, Sisters Laura Jane Weir of Hialeah, FL and Nancy Walker of Nashville, TN.

After retiring in 1989 as a Contract Specialist for near 30 years from the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, Christine moved to Ft. Walton Beach, FL where in addition to her love for reading, sewing, cross stitching and quilting, she took up Basket Weaving. In 2004 she made the move back to Madison to be close to her children where she has been a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Tina, Lauren and Linda of Hospice Family Care of Huntsville for the caring words and support also Right at Home caregivers and staff for their assistance during this difficult time during our Mothers illness.
