John “Choo Choo” Kennison Jolly died peacefully at his home in Madison, AL on May 22, 2020 at the age of 66 after a 14-month battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma.
John is survived by his wife Brenda (Nee Timmerman); 3 children Ambie (Dan) Kahle, Erica (David) Ogle, & Joshua (Claudia) Jolly; 5 grandchildren Anthony, John, & Danielle Kahle, Aubrey Ogle, Isla Jolly; 3 siblings Patsy (Dan Dornbach) Luebbers, Dennis (Debbie) Jolly, Pete Jolly, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ambrose & Erma Jolly; 2 siblings Frank “Tim” Checkeye & Starlit Frank.
John was born on July 25, 1953 in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1972. After graduating he married his high school sweetheart, and he joined the Air Force. After nine years of service he began his career with the United States Army in Logistics. In 1997, John graduated from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. In July of 1997 he became a Logistics Manager and moved his family to Madison, Alabama. He will long be remembered for his dedicated service to the ALSE (Army Aviation Life Support Equipment).
Besides his family, John loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was also an LSU Tigers fan. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and other old movies.
