Kristine Lemoyne (Mathis) Henderson, 52, of Madison, AL passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Kristine was a graduate of Hendersonville High School in Tennessee where she was a member of the Flag and Rifle Corp of the Band of Gold.  She also played clarinet for the Concert Band.

Kristine graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Tennessee Tech University, where she was an active member and president of Phi Mu Fraternity, a sorority.

Kristine practiced nursing for thirty years as an antepartum and labor and delivery nurse.  She was a voracious reader, enjoying numerous literary genres.  Additionally, Kristine was very active in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Alabama.  She was a passionate advocate for the rights and education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and most recently participated as a founding member of Alabama Hands and Voices.

Kristine was a dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, colleague and friend.  She will forever be remembered for her beauty, intelligence, dedication, loyalty and positive demeanor.  Her consistent fun-loving cheerfulness touched everyone that came to know her.  She will be most sorely missed.

Survivors include her husband, Milton Eugene Henderson, Jr; children Chase Waller Henderson and Connor Mathis Henderson; mother Peggy Sue Mathis; and brother James Woodrow Mathis.  She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Due to recent restrictions on gatherings and in respect of personal desires, no formal funeral services will be held.  A memorial event will occur at the Henderson home on a yet to-be-determined date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kristine’s honor to Alabama Hands & Voices (alhandsandvoices.org) or to the Woolley Institute for Spoken-Language Education (wise4al.org).
