Joan Worley Leslie

Joan Worley Leslie was 91 years old. Born January 2, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph Melton Worley and Gertrude (Wood) Worley. She was the sister of Carl M Worley M.D., deceased September 9, 2006. Joan passed away February 26, 2020 with family at her side.

Joan was the loving mother of Lynne Leslie Engles of Athens, Alabama and A. Cameron Leslie of Atlanta, Georgia. She was the proud grandmother of Ashley Engles (Ross) of Madison, Alabama; Brooke L. Lyle of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; Zachary Cameron Leslie of Richmond, Virginia. She also has six great grandchildren.

Joan was married to Artemas C. Leslie, deceased June 1, 1996 and Joseph E. Carlson also deceased.

She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School. She was employed at Carnegie Mellon University and Vesuvius Crucible Co. She was a long-time resident of Edgewood, Pa. She moved to Grove City, Pennsylvania to be near her daughter.  Most recently she moved to Madison, Alabama residing in Merrill Gardens, an independent living facility.

Joan was an accomplished and gifted artist. She loved beauty wherever saw it. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, having a good time.

The family will hold services at a later date in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
