Jo Ann Miller

JoAnn Casciana Miller, 78, of Madison, Alabama passed away January 11, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care after a long illness.  JoAnn was born on December 31, 1941 to parents Dominic and Dorothy Casciana in Freeport, Illinois. She graduated from Aquin High School in 1959. She married Gerald Miller on December 31, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Freeport, Illinois.   JoAnn worked at Micro-Switch and Weise’s in Freeport, IL; she also volunteered at the YWCA and held numerous positions in the late 1970’s.  She then relocated to Huntsville, Alabama in 1982 with her family and has remained in the area ever since.  In Huntsville she worked in management at Wal-Mart for many years.  She is survived by her husband, Gerald Miller and her four children, Tim (Eric) Miller of Chicago, Illinois, Steve (Stephanie) Miller of Madison, Alabama, Lauri (Mike) Wowk of Madison, Alabama and Chris (Jana) Miller of Katy, Texas, and grandchildren Erin, Emily, Olivia, William, Michael, Joseph and Carson and her sister Sue (Marty) Snook of Orlando, Florida.  Preceding her in death are her brother John and her parents Dominic and Dorothy.

JoAnn loved going to Mountain Lakes and the RV life.  You could always find her canoeing or biking at the Lake.  She was a huge Disney fan and made countless visits to her favorite place on earth, Walt Disney World.  You could also catch her at the slots in Tunica, MS.  She could spend hours waiting for the big win.  She was a doting Grandmother to her seven grandchildren and was so proud of all of them. 

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama on January 18, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care, 10000 Serenity Lane, Huntsville, AL 35803 would be appreciated.
