Kumsun Siegrist

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Kumsun Siegrist (이금순), loving wife, mother, and friend, went to be with her Lord at age 53.

Kumsun, also known as Soon Hee (이순희) by her family, was born on March 15, 1966 in Jinan Jeonbuk, Korea (전북 진안군) to Young Jin Yi (이영진) and Oak Sun Kang (강옥순). On August 8, 1989, she married Mike Siegrist and moved to America November 2, 1989. They raised three daughters, Michele, Christina, and Jennifer, during their 30 year marriage.

Kumsun enjoyed expressing her creativity through her work and held positions as a cake decorator, florist, and seamstress. She also loved singing along to music and doodling. Kumsun was a nature lover. She enjoyed hiking, gardening, and watching animals, especially birds. She devoted her life to serving the church and was a dedicated wife and mother. She was known for her selfless, compassionate heart and her unconditional love. Her playful spirit and contagious smile will be missed.

Kumsun was preceded in death by her father (Young Jin Yi), mother (Oak Sun Kang), and two sisters (Geum Hee, 이금희, and Jung Hee, 이정희). She is survived by her husband Mike, three children, Michele, Christina, and Jennifer, her brother (Jae Hoon, 이재훈), and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Legacy Chapel in Madison, Alabama. The viewing will start at 5:00 PM, and the service will start at 6:30 PM.
