Our amazing warrior Karsen Steele Waters—born October 21, 2004 in Honolulu, HI—lived a beloved life in Madison, AL. On Friday, October 4, 2019, at only age 14, Karsen went to join our Heavenly Father due to complications from his rare form of epilepsy, Dravet Syndrome. His family—dad, Michael Waters; mom, Kim Waters; sister, Kiana Blue Waters; and brother, Kyler Storm Waters—surrounded him with love as he was gathered into God’s arms. We know that he is now at peace and in the beautiful heavens with the Lord—flying high with the angels, running and playing in heaven free from seizures, struggles and limitations.
Karsen brought so much love and joy in our lives. His heart and soul touched the lives of so many. He was a true inspiration—teaching us patience and true happiness despite limitations and complications due to Dravet Syndrome. He knew how to love unconditionally, and he taught that lesson to us every day with his smiles, hugs and kisses.
He loved to sing and dance and play on his iPads. He would sit on our back porch swing while listening to his music. He loved being in the water—it was truly his happy place swimming in a pool or in the ocean. He loved to hold your hand and give so many kisses.
Karsen is survived by his family—his parents, Michael and Kim Waters; his sister, Kiana Blue Waters; his brother, Kyler Storm Waters; his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Lucy Kaholokula; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Karsen was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Waters, and his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Walker.
