Pierina Taverna Borra, 102, of Madison, Alabama passed away Tuesday September 10, 2019.
Above all, nurture and keep the family together” was her mantra. This gifted music teacher, with her driving force to excel at her work, to always strive to set the best example of moral and ethical living; who valued hard work, study, and discipline, and giving to others, passed away at home quietly Tuesday morning.
Born Monza, Italy March 17, 1917 she was a graduate of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Torino, Italy and wife of Italian diplomat, Dr. Carlo Borra. She was surrounded by her son Pier Borra and spouse Renee; daughter Lina Moran and spouse Bill. She is survived by grandchildren, Pier Borra Jr. (Kathe), Marie Hays, Anna Smarr, (Roger), William Moran (Heike); great grandchildren William, Pierina, Alexander Hays, Sabrina, Lucia, Miranda, Alaina Borra and Knox Smarr.
Funeral mass will be celebrated September 18th at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Madison at 11 am.
