Shirley Claire Roach

Shirley Claire Streater Roach, age 85, went to be with her heavenly Father on August 11, 2019. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1934 to Walter Adair and Edna Lynn Streater who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Jack Roach, in 1968. 

She is survived by her husband Jack Roach, her brother Kenneth Streater (Joy), daughters Laura Byrd (David) and Jenny Buckner (Russ), seven grandchildren Amy Perdue (Ross), Andrew Byrd (Katie), Lauren Buckner, Ryan Buckner, Jesse Buckner (Nikki), Josh Buckner, and Claire Buckner, six great-grandchildren Davis Perdue, Anna Perdue,  Allie Perdue, Harrison Byrd, Brooks Byrd, and Ella Claire Perdue, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. 

Shirley was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church where she was surrounded by many wonderful friends.   She loved working in her flowerbeds and yard, bird-watching, camping, and spending time with family.  She loved to cross-stitch, scrapbook, read, cook, and plan special events for her family.

Visitation will be at Mt Zion Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama on August 15, 2019 from 12:00pm- 2:00pm with a Funeral Service following at 2:00.  A graveside service and interment will take place on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 11:00am, Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia.
