Donald Patrick Riggs

Donald Patrick "Pat" Riggs, 57 of Madison, AL, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Pat is preceded in death by his father, Billy Wayne Riggs, and his brother, Michael Wayne Riggs.

Pat had long and distinguished careers in both the US Air Force and various law enforcement agencies. Pat began his law enforcement career at the California Department of Corrections where he served as a Corrections Officer for 10 years. He moved to Las Vegas where he joined the North Las Vegas Police Department as a Detention Officer. After 10 years with NLVPD, he and his wife decided to relocate to Alabama where Pat joined the Madison County Sheriff Department as a Corrections Officer. Pat ended his career with the Madison Police Department as an Animal Control Officer.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen R. Riggs, sons Connor Riggs (Ashley), Michael Stallings (Amanda), Daniel Stallings and Tanner Riggs; daughters Emily Daileda (Mike) and Tesanee Riggs; grandchildren Bentley, Carter, Kenlynn, Raelynn and Saige; mother Linda Shurtliffe Riggs; brother Gary (Ginia) Riggs, nieces Aimee Riggs, Hannah Anderson and nephew Corey Riggs; brother-in-law Kenneth Cook (Joyce), nephews Josh and Alex (Hillary) Cook as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.

A celebration of Pat’s life is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Legacy Funeral Home 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758. Family will be accepting visitors from 12 to 2 p.m. Services for Pat will begin at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens 6810 University Drive NW, Huntsville, AL 35806.
