In retirement Nell enjoyed making frequent trips back to the farm she grew up on and cared for her parents. She was a devoted mother supporting her four boys in sports for many years. As a grandmother she cooked up meals of fresh vegetables from her garden and taught her grandchildren the joys of fishing and to appreciate a dirt road.
