Mrs. Mavis Lenora Creamer Cooley, 89, of Madison, AL., entered her heavenly home on May 28, 2019. She was born in Panama City, FL., December 17, 1929. She was a 1947 graduate of Bay County High School in Panama City and grew up in Bay County, FL prior to moving to Madison, Alabama in 1960 and on to Davenport, IA in 1975 and back to Madison in 1985 where she remained until her death.
Mrs. Cooley is preceded in death by her infant son Phillip Wayne Cooley, her parents William Oscar Creamer and Flora Pearlee Pitts Creamer, a brother William Howard Creamer and a sister Margaret Creamer.
She is survived by her husband, of 69 years, John William Cooley of Madison, AL.; two sons, John Kenneth and wife Barbara Ballinger Cooley of Columbia, SC and Michael Wesley Cooley of Dunnellon, FL; one daughter, Debra Sue Cooley Pearce and husband Steve Pearce of Madison, AL., eight grandchildren; Johnny Cooley (Cheryl), Carrie Tolar (Michael), Donny Cooley (Mary Rose), Linda Hildebrand (Eric), Melinda Cooley, Katie Pearce, Luke Pearce and Carolyn Cooley; and ten great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooley was an active member of Haven Baptist Church, Madison, AL.
Visitation will be at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home, Madison, AL Saturday June 1, 2019 from 11a.m. -1 p.m. with Celebration of Life service at 1p.m. followed by burial at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
