Richard Walter Fish was the second of six children born to Walter and Marion Fish. He was born on May 15, 1950 in Corning, NY, and went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2019 at his home in Toney, Alabama.
Richard is survived by his wife Donna and her two children Michelle Massie and Rachael Collet, as well as three grandchildren, Amber Northrip, Austin Ashley, and Elizabeth Gordon. He also leaves behind two brothers, Carl and Steve Fish, as well as two sisters Marlene Lewis and Starr Lindhard. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard served on active duty overseas in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was involved in the construction industry when he came home after the war and helped to construct the interstate highways that surround Birmingham, today. Later he became a licensed electrician working for McDonald-Douglas and finally with the Chrysler Corporation, where he served until retirement.
He enjoyed billiards, boating on Lake Guntersville and riding his Harley motorcycle, as well as building things for his grandchildren. Richard was a music lover who taught himself to play the guitar, and was an avid admirer of every song Celine Dion recorded. He will be remembered by those who loved him as a loyal husband, and a friend to those who needed help.
