Donald Ray Ferguson Jr., 57, passed away on November 18, 2018, in Huntsville, AL.
Don was born on March 23, 1961 to SMSGT Donald and Donalda Ferguson in Everaux, France. He is survived by his mother, wife Elisia, son Joshua, sister Alice Carden, and three nieces Amanda Pearson, Amy Sontag, Savannah Garnett and nephew Noah Garnett.
Don graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Following graduation, he worked at AMRDEC. After 32 years of exemplary service, Don retired and devoted his time to the numerous hobbies he enjoyed. Those hobbies included cycling, hiking, camping, canoeing, 4 wheeling, and flying RC planes.
Don was very skilled mechanically and loved working on cars, even sometimes customizing his own in the garage. Many people relied on him to solve their mechanical issues. Several referred to him as “MacGyver.” He was always happy to help teach those that were willing to learn.
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on November 27th at Legacy Chapel in Madison, AL. Visitation will be held from 3PM to 4PM and the service will immediately follow at 4PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Peace Love and Animals (no kill shelter in Tanner, AL) or Asbury Methodist Church Mission Outreach.
