Jeanine Marie was born on October 16, 1962, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to James and Marie Brennan. She was the oldest of four children; her younger brothers, Jim, Kevin, and Mark adored her. She was a sweet and caring young girl who turned into a thoughtful and giving adult. From a young age, Jeanine had a passion for music. She loved nearly every genre, from funky disco to smooth soul to Catholic hymns. Jeanine’s ministry was music, and she shared her gift with thousands of people over the years.
After Jeanine graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Business in 1984, she married her high school sweetheart, Steve Pesto. Together they had three daughters, Danielle, Stephanie, and Allyson. Jeanine and Steve were a vibrant couple, always hosting parties and inviting over their kids’ friends to play.
In 2001, Steve was diagnosed with ALS and Jeanine was diagnosed with breast cancer. They were both fighters, determined to live for their kids. Ultimately, though, Steve passed in 2006, and in 2010, Jeanine met Jay Jamison.
Jeanine and Jay shared a love of lighthouses, cruises, and family. When Jeanine’s cancer returned again, Jay was there, holding her hand through chemotherapy, just as Steve had been. As the end drew near, Jay diligently cared for Jeanine, his best friend.
Jeanine Marie Brennan Pesto Jamison was loved by all who knew her. Her vibrancy and love of life and family shone through even the darkest of days. Her grandchildren, Liam, Addy, and Joy, were the lights of her life. Each day, may we all remember her motto: celebrate life!
The funeral for Jeanine will be held Friday, October 5, at 6:00pm at St. John’s Catholic church in Madison, AL. Visitation will occur prior to the service at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, Jeanine requested that donations be made to the Russell Hill Foundation.
