Thomas Oliver Plant was born in Berkeley, California, October 24, 1938, to Thomas and Viola Plant, and two sisters, Lucy and Phyllis. The evening of September 7, 2018, after a short battle with Glioblastoma, he went to be with Christ, leaving behind his beloved wife and best friend of nearly 50 years, Pamela Thuesen, their two sons, Tom and David, their wives, Karen and Susan, as well as, three grandchildren, Olivia Grace, Sydney Reese, and Pascal Thomas, who were his pride and joy. When it came to the “big questions” in life, Tom Plant left no questions, his family knew he loved the Lord, and that he loved them, and for that, they are forever thankful. A “man of the people” Tom was a natural leader and friend to many around the country, even the world. He served his nation, coached his boys, loved his neighbors, and worshiped and served God through the local church. As a Chief Tunnel Inspector, Tom was loved and revered in the heavy construction industry and helped manage some of the most significant and demanding public works projects of his day. God’s grace permeated Tom’s life and he regularly shared “that nobody had it better.” He was our Hero, and we’re thankful that he lead us to his Savior, Jesus Christ.
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25
