Richard Lee Knox born on September 2, 1949 passed away in peace early Thursday morning June 14, 2018.
Beloved son of James Wilburn Knox and Peggy Christine Olive Knox. He was a devoted father to his four surviving children Richard Lee Knox II, Cynthia Ann Knox Tanner, Tiffany Dawn Knox, and Brittany Dale Knox. Also leaving behind his wife and the love of his life Phyllis Ann Knox married for 48 years. They shared six grandchildren together, Kameron Lee Knox, Taylorlynn Christine Knox, Brandon Michael Tanner, Leah Angeline Knox (confidant in life and spirit), Rockell Aurora Newton, Xyra Elenor Newton. He was very dedicated to Electrical Engineering working for Huntsville Utilities as the Engineering Service Superintendent of Electric, Water & Gas he retired after 49 years of service. Richard made huge impacts to bettering his community serving on the Madison City Industrial Board, and helping Madison County’s growth and economy. He was just an overall selfless, kind, and giving man to which many loved dearly and will be missed forever and never forgotten for his one of a kind natural charisma, loyalty, and extreme dedication and precision in which he performed in all aspects in life.
Memorial services will be held Thursday June 21, 2018 at First United Methodist Church located at 120 Greene Street SE. Huntsville, AL 35801. Visitation is from 11:30 am thru 1:00 pm, Memorial follows directly after from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Any added donations dedicated to Richard Lee Knox can be placed at the First United Methodist Church and are extremely appreciated.
