First Lieutenant David Samuel Albandoz, age 37, died on May 2, 2018 upon the crash of a C-130 Hercules aircraft on a military mission departing from Savannah, Georgia.
David Samuel Albandoz was born on March 21, 1981 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He dedicated 16 years to the United States Air Force, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. Additionally, he worked as Engineer for the Missile Defense Agency at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He is survived by his wife and daughter. We will miss him dearly.
We will forever remember David for his generous kindness, humor, brilliance, creativity, heroism, and love as a cherished father, brother, and son.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 19 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home, 16 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL 35758, with Visitation starting at 10:00am. Burial with military honors will be in the Huntsville Memory Gardens at 1:30 p.m. Members of the community are welcome to attend.
